Your artguide account is divided into three sections: Contact Information, Present Exhibition Listings, and Future Exhibition Listings. Your main account page contains a preview of what your information will look like on artguide along with any future listings. Present listings will appear under your contact information; future exhibitions will automatically replace them.
To change your contact e-mail or password, click "Edit Contact / Change Password" on your main account page. Your "Contact E-mail" is not visible to artguide visitors. Use this e-mail to sign in to artguide and to receive notifications about upcoming listing expirations. To change your password, type in a new password (it must be at least six characters) and retype it to confirm. Click "Save" to update your changes. You will use this password to sign in to artguide in the future.
To edit your contact information click the "Edit" button next to contact information. Here you can change the information that will be visible to artguide visitors. You can also upload an image of your location and add a caption. This location image will appear as a default when no present listing image is uploaded.
For US locations, please preface your zip code with a two-letter state abbreviation. Follow this example: NY 10001.
Please note that changing your "Public E-mail" does not change your "Contact E-mail." To change your contact e-mail click "Edit Contact / Change Password" on your main account page.
If you would like your location to be alphabetized in a way other than it currently appears, please send your request to artguideinfo@artforum.com.
If your location has moved, and you would like to be listed under a different city or region, e-mail your new location information to artguideinfo@artforum.com.
Add or Edit a listing. Accurate programming is what makes artguide the most reliable listings available online. We encourage you to upload exhibitions as far into the future as seems practical since future listings will be accessible to artguide visitors using artcalendar to plan their upcoming travels.
Listing parameters will depend on whether you are a participating gallery, museum, art fair, auction, or special event. Listings will appear on artguide two days before the selected start date and expire on the end date selected.
artguide gallery members may have two concurrent exhibitions listed and can program future exhibitions up to a year in advance. You may choose between Option A and Option B when entering exhibition information. Option A has two fields: The first field will appear in bold, the second in regular text (not bold). Both fields can be up to 80 characters long. Option B is an open text box with a 200 character limit. If you would like parts of your text to be formatted, see bold and italics.
artguide museum members may have four concurrent exhibitions listed and can program future exhibitions up to a year in advance. You may choose between Option A and Option B when entering exhibition information. Option A has two fields: The first field will appear in bold, the second in regular text (not bold). artguide artfair and special event members have one event listing which can be updated at any time. This event will appear on artguide year round, regardless of the start date, and will expire at the selected end date. How to upload an image. You may upload an image for each of your present and future exhibition listings. If no image is uploaded, the location image will appear as a default.
To begin, make sure your image is in JPEG or GIF format. Click "Browse" and select the file you would like to upload. Once your file has uploaded you can create a caption. Type your text in the "Image Caption" field. If you would like parts of your text to be formatted, see bold and italics. Once you are done, click "Store" to preview your image.
artguide also offers a click to enlarge function that allows visitors to click on an image you upload to view the full-size image with its caption. Preview this function from your main account page. To close the new window, click anywhere inside the window.
To delete an image click the "Delete" button next to the uploaded image.
Trouble uploading an image? Make sure the file is in JPEG or GIF format. The maximum file size is 1 megabyte (MB). Remove any apostrophes, spaces, or special characters like or from the file name.
Bold and italics. If you would like parts of your text to be in bold or italics use the appropriate symbols around the desired text:
For text in *bold* add an asterisk before and after the selected text.
For text in _italics_ add an underscore before and after.
For bold and italic, _*use both.*_ The final formatting—not the symbols—will appear in the preview and in artguide.
