People keep saying how influential Lasker has been. I can think of..... like.... Christopher Wool.... Early Monique Prieto and.... maybe Gunther Förg and that's it.
He points out how the work sort of fits with different styles in the 80s - but not quite - and that's definitely a mark of his originality - but I think that also points to where his influence stops. The stuff has such a specialized vocabulary and technique it's hard to see anyone taking much from it on its own - on the linear tip you can see it getting mixed in with late Marden and maybe Australian Aboriginal abstraction, but I don't see many people really pushing that.
